- The UMCOR Disaster Relief Fund which will aid the recovery effort in Haiti. Please send the fund directly to UMCOR or go online to https://umcmission.org/give-to-umcor/. On any personal checks to UMCOR please add the number 982450 in the memo line.

Dayton UMC will have a booth to sell donated items. We love baked goods, handicrafts, woodcrafts, fabric arts, and needlework. Linda Jacobs is the co-coordinator this year. We are still hoping to find someone to co-chair this with Linda. Contact her for information and to volunteer. We’ll need folks to organize and price the items (Friday), transport them to the booth and volunteers to work a shift on Saturday. You can reach her by email at readlindajacobs2@mindspring.com or by phone at 575-635-8426.
The Youth continue the tradition of cooking a kettle of vegetable soup at the cannon. Your donations of prepared vegetable soup (no meat; can be homemade or store-bought) and canned vegetables will be blended together into one very large kettle to be sold by the cup or quart. We also need clean quart jars and lids or funds to purchase supplies. Please have everything to the kitchen in the activities hall by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1st.
Rebuilding Hope – New Mission Program at Clover Hill UMC With the call of Micah 6:8 motivating us, Clover Hill UMC has begun a new mission group with the primary focus of doing local home repairs for families/individuals in need. We will also be organizing an annual mission trip out of the area to support neighbors further away. Our mission statement: Seeking to put God’s love into action, by providing safe and healthy homes for our neighbors. We have actively been working towards this goal since 2019 and are grateful to have completed our first project on August 21st. As we move forward and plan for future projects we want to invite the churches of the Harrisonburg District to join us. Ways you can help: 1) get the word out to members of your community to help us find more projects, 2) volunteer to help (we need skilled and unskilled workers to help on projects, as well as volunteers willing to help behind the scenes), 3) partner with us to support projects financially, 4) pray for God’s hand upon the work of Rebuilding Hope. For more information or to get involved, contact Rebuilding Hope Director Terry Sager rebuildinghope2020@gmail.com), or Pastor Sarah Bailey sarahbailey@vaumc.org).
